Design and Layout
The proposed development comprises a new Lidl food store with associated car parking. The proposed store has a GIA of 2,211m². The store has a sales area of 1,375m² and 806 m² of ancillary space.
Both vehicular and customer access are off Fraser Road with the food store car park wrapping along the side and front of the store. Delivery vehicles will utilise the same access point, drive in to the site in forward gear and reverse into the loading bay which is located on the north west elevation of the building. All store waste will be collected at the same time as deliveries, thereby minimising daily HGV movements in and out of the site.
The customer car park will provide 91 car parking spaces including 2 for electric vehicles, 6 disabled spaces and 8 parent and child spaces in close proximity to the store entrance. 38 bicycle spaces will be provided close to the store entrance. The customer entrance to the store will face Fraser Road and facilitate easy access for those walking from Fraser Road, travelling by bicycle, car or bus to the store.
